My First Shoe Dance at Walmart

The first shoe dance was done in the shoe aisle at Walmart. Ken started freakin' out and was afraid someone would come down the aisle and catch me dancing like a fool.  I really didn't give a rat's ass if they did.  He ran away so I was only able to do one pair at Walmart.  I came home and completed my dance-a-thon in my dining room with shoes I already own but haven't worn in many, many years.

Enjoy.

If you can't see the video here on my blog, you can follow the link and see it HERE.

The first person that I know that did the "shoe dance" at Walmart was Darlene Michaud on her channel.  It was so funny, I cried and cried as I laughed at it.  So thank you Darlene for being the "shoe dance" inventor.  I thought I'd try it too.  It was fun and I learned a lot about editing clips and altering the speed of clips and many other things.

Anyway, I hope you guys get a giggle out of it. Give me a thumbs up below and/or leave a comment if you like it and would like to see more videos like this.  Thanks so much for watching!

Moving On With a Little Help

We had the pleasure of spending some time at Deep Lake in a lake house owned by my friend's son about 15 minutes from our house. It was nothing short of spectacular...

Here's the house.

The views from that porch were wonderful.

The yard was luscious.

I took a thousand more pictures, but you get the idea. It was a nice way to put some things to rest, literally and figuratively.

And now these guys need my love and attention while they're still here...

I get stuck every time I come here to post and end up leaving without typing a word. Maybe this will get me over the roadblock in my head.

Back soon, I hope.

What Happened With Janie

If you can't see this video here on my blog, you can see it on YouTube HERE.

Does anybody know why the audio on my videos starts lagging behind the video after about five minutes? Can you help me out and tell me how to correct that?

A BIG thank you and hugs to everyone for your comments over the last few days. It meant a lot to me. As always, thank you for being here to read and/or watch.

Janie Passed Yesterday

Janie
20?? - 2017

Janie starting going down hill fast the last few days. Yesterday she started having trouble breathing. The vet met us at her clinic last night at 9:00 pm and helped her pass. We were both by her side. She was an angel in life, and now she's an angel in heaven. I'm so glad we could spoil her rotten and give her a wonderful life these last almost five years that we had her. RIP sweet Janie. We love you.

Crochet!

This is the shawl I'm making.
From the crochet book Serenity from KnitPicks.
It's sold out, but you can still buy this shawl pattern on Ravelry.
It's the Scallops and Shells Shawl.

I'm using Knit Picks Gloss Fingering-weight yarn.
See my fancy paperclip stitch markers? Ha.

After that last picture, I bought some Buddha stitch markers.
Aren't they cute? She only had three.
I bought them on etsy from Knitty by Nature.

This is where I am on the shawl right now.
I just noticed after taking this picture that my color dye lots were off!
I was really upset at first and was considering frogging it.
My friends on IG changed my mind.
I'm going to finish it.
Can't wait to get to the border. It's so pretty!

I already have the yarn for my next project which is also a shawl.
I struggled when choosing colors, but I'm happy.
The yarn is Knit Picks Comfy Sport-Weight.
Colors are Parchment, Flamingo, and Peony.
This yarn is so silky-soft!
I will be making the Hotel of Bees shawl pattern.
(From Ravelry)

This was delicious!
No recipe. I just threw it together.

These salads were terrific too.
Spinach, Romaine, Cucumber, Egg, Feta Cheese, Strawberries, Pecans,
And Ken's Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette Lite.
This dressing is so good, y'all!

I saw these at Walmart. So pretty!

Snapdragons on the rails around the porch with the Geraniums.

Chives blooming in a pot on the porch.

We enjoy identifying birds while outside at the table.
We did this in Texas too.
The difference 2,000 miles makes is amazing!

Granny Sammi.

Wenona, send me your email in a comment. I will not publish it!

Kim Wilkins, I got your comment on YouTube. THANK YOU!

I love you for being here.
Thank you.

Video of May Ipsy Bag Opening, Product Reviews, and More

LOL...I couldn't figure out how to slow the text down at the end, and I ended up putting it up there twice trying to fix it...then I couldn't get rid of it when I tried to just delete it!  That horse face at the end came out of nowhere too!  Ha-ha-ha. I have no idea how I managed that one.  I swear...old people and computers.  I WILL figure this out!  Love you for watching while I learn.

If you can't see the video here, you can watch it on YouTube HERE.

Pineapple-Cucumber Salad Recipe

This salad will knock your socks off!

So FRESH for summer!

These flavors are THE BOMB.

We ate it ALL for lunch today.
I will be making this again and again.

Pineapple-Cucumber Salad

1 fresh Pineapple, chopped into bite-size pieces
1 Cucumber, chopped
2 limes, zested and juiced
1/3 cup cilantro, roughly chopped (Use mint if you don't like cilantro)
Salt & Pepper to taste

Place pineapple and cucumber cubes into a large bowl. Zest two limes over the top, add cilantro and salt & pepper. (I used two pinches of kosher salt, and I think it's essential to get the best taste from your salad. I also think it's essential to use fresh pineapple, not canned.)

I didn't want to buy a whole pineapple, so I spent a little more and got a pre-chopped container at the grocery store, which was less pineapple than you'd get if you used a whole pineapple. I still used a whole large cucumber though, but only one lime since my salad was smaller.

We ate it right out of the bowl for lunch, and we both thought it was to-die for. Try it!

I found this recipe on Pinterest. Credit goes HERE.

It's a beautiful day today so we ate outside in the backyard.

Is this a crabapple tree?

Whatever it is, it's gorgeous all covered in these bright pink flowers.

Fletch wanting some pineapple-cucumber salad.
We've yet to find anything he didn't like.
He ate pineapple and cucumber pieces.
There's a pink cast to this picture because we're under a big red umbrella.

There's nothing else going on around here.
No crochet.
No reading.
No baking.
I'm feeling very lazy and sleeping a lot.
I can't seem to find my get-up-and-go.
It got up and went without me, I guess.

Toot-a-loo.
Peace.

Boobies

I'll tell you about the boobies later.

The white lilacs from our yard are just beautiful again this year.
I cut two bunches for the house yesterday.
And the smell!!

I put the little bunch beside our bed so I could smell them all night.

I think I told y'all I planted two rhododendrons.
They are thriving! Yay!
They have lots of new growth and are both blooming.
I'm so happy about that.

*****************************

I made the most fabulous quiche for supper a few nights ago...

Why don't I make quiche more often?
It's so easy and quick and always so good.

I started with a frozen, store-bought, deep-dish pie crust.

I filled it with chopped ham, onion, swiss cheese, a pinch of salt, and lots of black pepper...

Mixed 4 eggs and 1/2 cup of whole milk and poured that over.
Baked for 45 minutes at 375 F.
(The instructions said 25 minutes, but mine wasn't set until 45)
Just bake it until it's really brown on top and doesn't jiggle at all in the middle.

I'm tellin' you...it had the BEST flavor!

Remember my last post where I showed y'all the recipe for Southern Strawberry Punch Bowl Cake? Well, I made it last night for the poker game this evening...

I had fun making it and layering it up.
I didn't have a punch bowl so I used my largest clear bowl.
My trifle looked too small to hold it all, and it would have been.

Yummy...cake, strawberries, pudding, pineapple, bananas, whipped cream...

I smashed it down, but it still almost didn't all fit in.
But just look...

Is that fantastic or what??
I bet it's going to be good!
There's also a double batch of chili in the crockpot.
We're expecting twice the people we usually have.
All the snowbirds are back in town and will be here.

My dining room is all a mess because I'm still in the process of mopping. (Fletch is a big help, huh? Hee-hee. I just mop around the dogs. He's smart enough to stay up out of the way at least.) I'm taking a little break. I don't know why I always freak out and feel like I have to clean like a mad woman. People only come in to pee, and they don't have to walk through anything but the kitchen to get to the bathroom. You know they peek at the rest of my house though! Haha.

We got the porches ready yesterday.
See that water fountain in the middle of the big porch?
We're still in the process of getting it set up like we want it.
It used to be buried in the front of the house in the garden.
We never got to enjoy it there really so Ken moved it out back.

I'll show it to you when it's done.

********************************

Okay, so about that "Boobies" title.

Ken said I should put "boobies" in all the titles of my blog and I would get way more hits and visitors to my blog. LOL. He has no idea I'm really doing it. We'll see what happens. I'm not really going to do it on every post. It's an experiment. Calm down.

OMG, look at baby Eli.
This was right after his first bath and blow-dry.
GAH.

Peace.
